We’re still alive! We’ve been super busy working on new stuff so I guess it kind of seems like we fell off the face of the earth. Here’s a quick run down of what we’ve been up to:
- We’re excited to announce we’ll be at the Arizona Game On Expo as one of their panelists! We’ll be doing a live arcade build and talking about getting started in arcade building, the options the home builder has from a few hundred bucks to the most ridiculously outlandish cabinets that cook toast and fold your laundry for you (probably, we don’t own one of those), and some of the things we’ve learned along the way. Things have changed a lot since we built our first cabinet so it’s a great time to get into the hobby. We’ll also be auctioning off the cabinet that we’re building for the expo so if you’re in Arizona come by and try to win this bad boy. I’ll be honest, it’s pretty sweet. More info to come once we know our scheduled day/time.
- The band has not broken up. The drive for some of us to get here to record is 1 – 1 1/2 hours round-trip. So with that in mind, Dirk is going to be doing some game play videos and Chester and I will be getting back to recording regular episodes shortly. We’ve been updating the studio and moving things around, which brings me to the last thing…
- Chester and I are working on a new show called Still Reelin’. We’ve been wanting to do this for a while but couldn’t find the time to get it going. So here we are, taking a much deserved break after 2 straight years of doing The Casual Cowards of Gaming show, and we’re not really taking a break, it’s right back to work on something new. We’re bad at taking breaks I guess. We’ll be watching trailers for upcoming releases and talking about whether or not we would watch the movie based on our impression of the trailer and talking a little bit of shit along the way in classic CCOG style (you can check out the pilot episode here). We’ll also be doing another yet unnamed show where we pick a theme and pick a movie for each other to watch then we’ll come back and see whose movie fits into the category the best, or maybe we’ll fist fight. For our first episode we’ve chosen the theme Horror Movies Based on Innocuous Things. Chester has chosen the cinematic gem ‘The Stuff’, a film about sentient…yogurt…I suppose. It’s goo that comes out of the ground and some genius decided it would be great to eat it. Also, it turns people into zombie meth addicts. Rian has chosen the American classic ‘Leprechaun In The Hood’, because it’s The Leprechaun, and he’s in the hood, duh. Starring Warwick Davis in his iconic role as the homicidal Leprechaun and Ice T…as Mack Daddy. Really? Mack Daddy? You can do better than that. So I guess we’re trying to drive each other crazy with our first episode. I guess we’ll see who wins.
So thanks to all the people that have been asking where we went. We’re still here, we’re just making some much needed updates and working on new stuff. Hopefully we can continue to keep you entertained in the future. Kisses!
